I need to post this stuff before I forget!
Ok, so the deal was that about two years ago, from this summer, I moved to Saudi Arabia. NO JOKE, PEOPLE. I KNOW YOU'RE LIKE BS BUT THIS IS ACTUALLY TRUE. I DIDN'T DOCUMENT IT IN A JOURNAL, BUT I HAVE PICTURES! THAT I NEED TO FIND!
My dad was out of work for a long time. His old job, working at Greenpoint Morgage, paid very well, it was a secure job, and we had stayed in Columbus for... about ...hm, from two to eleven... about 9-10 years. I had made friends, and this summer was the summer before 6th grade. Well, about November, I learned that we were moving. I didn't know where, but I just knew we were. I started to forget it, but in March I learned we were going to Saudi Arabia. I started to protest, but nothing would work. He already had a house in a compound in line, and it was furbished, which was one of the preks for working for Saudi Home Loans. There was nothing we could do.
He left about March for Saudi Arabia, to start work, to learn the local shops, and all that wow. We Skyped him everyday, but I missed his face. When we were finally going to Dubai to meet him there, stay for a week, and then move to Saudi is where the story begins...
The flight was terribly long. You couldn't walk around, since we were in business class (it's the most awesomest class evar!). The flight was about 18 hours long. We saw the sun rise TWICE. Explain that.
Once we finally landed, We had to get our carry on luggage (our only luggage), and go on the hunt for my dad. I didn't knew what had happened to him while he was there the 5 months, but I really didn't expect a mustache to grow. But there it was, a fully grown mustache. OMG, was I happy when he shaved it off. We finally saw him, he wasn't holding up a sign, I smiled. I will say I like my dad more than I like my mom. Favoritism is present.
It was really late (our time in America) when we got to Dubai, so we went through security, to the car, and then to the hotel we were staying at. We crashed. Literally. If the fold-outs hadn't been present, I would have had a knot on my head from falling. The hotel was nice, and when we were waiting for the room, they gave us honest-to-gawd mango juice. VERY TASTY. I have no idea wether it was pasturized or not though... They also had a little seating area that was kinda native to the area, so we sat there and drank the mango juice.
More parts coming tomorrow.
